PRAYER FOR ST. PHILIP’S
Pray to God:
· to deepen a hunger
for God in all people of our congregation.
· to open our eyes
more so God will be revealed more fully to each person in our congregation.
· to produce a discontent
in us with anything in our personal lives or in the life of the congregation
which are contrary to Him.
· to quicken our
faith to believe He is going to do the unseen.
· to give us a new
sensitivity to unreached people
· to prepare key
individuals He is planning to use at St. Philip’s.
· for the needs
of our own families and the families of others in the congregation
· to enlarge our
vision of the Body of Christ and our love for it.
· to enlarge His
church worldwide by changing dead structures.
We would welome your constant prayer for our church.
Pray for the smooth operation of the congregation under our new structure, for continued good communication between leaders, for inspiration in our planning and outreach into our community and especially for planning for our target group of new retirees and people preparing for retirement.
Praise for the Alpha courses that will continue be held each year. Pray for the planning for these courses: that leaders will be available and that people in our local community will be interested to come.
Prayer for the four Bible Study groups: that more people can be encouraged to join in Bible study.
Pray for the discussion in the Monday morning and one of the Wednesday evening groups about dividing the groups as the numbers have grown in those groups.
Pray for our new discussion group for 'beginners' that all participants will grow in their faith and understanding.
Prayer for some issues of conflict within the congregation which need to be resolved. Prayer for the Elders and Church Council as they consider these issues.
Prayer for the ministry with young families who have brought children for baptism or who have in other ways shown interest in our church. Prayer that we can nurture them into a living faith in Christ and encourage them to participate in the life and worship of the church. Pray that we will know the best ways to encourage these young families.
