As St. Philip's is a Christian church, we acknowledge Jesus Christ as our ultimate leader. We believe that he established the Church and in still in charge today. In all that we do, we seek to do his will and we give him the glory for any of our achievements.
St Philip's, together
with a neighbouring congregation, St. Mark's, has called Rev.
Philip Liebelt to be our Minister , serving each congregation half
time.
It is our prayer that
Philip will be able to mentor and train our leaders for their ministry
role and will equip and encourage the members of the congregation to reach
out to our local community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Congregational meetings are held four times in the year after the Sunday worship service. We sometimes share lunch between the worship and the meeting. The Congregational AGM is held in June.
The Ministry of the Congregation is divided into three core ministry areas: Administration, Spiritual Direction, and Care & Concern. Each Ministry Core has a Core Coordinator whose is a member of the Church Council and whose task it is to oversee the work of that area.
Each core is made up of a number of ministry areas, each under the direction of a ministry leader. These ministry areas cover all the groups and activities of the congregation's ministry.
Core co-ordinators and
Ministry Leaders form a Ministry Team which meets bi-monthly with the Minister
to share and discuss issues, undertake training and plan for the future.
